I began my yoga journey when I was 15, which was such an important time to start building a new relationship with myself. I immediately fell in love with my newfound awareness of breath and body. This is the foundation which brings us back into this moment, in connection with our true self. And this is why I began teaching, in hopes that others can find and build their own connection with body and breath.
In 2017, I completed my 200hr at College of San Mateo, and then went to India for my 300hr training. The next few years I followed many different types of yoga, and fell in love with Rocket, a variation of the Ashtanga sequence. This became the greatest influence for how I teach today. I use a series of set sequences, and with long holds for each asana. This helps us really feel into the pose, and truly see our improvement from one class to the next. I also switch our main focus to the breath, instead of the body. We sync breath with music and movement, and focus on maintaining the steady four-count breath. Instead of our awareness being on achieving the perfect posture, we tune into the rhythm of the breath, making the practice much more of a mediation.
